"Leading Learning in the Primary School"

Professor John West-Burnham

  • How do effective leaders engage with the learning of all members of the school community?
  • Are you leading the learning in your school?
  • How do you know if leadership is making a difference to learning?

Discover a new approach to the challenges of school leadership that makes a real difference.

This conference will provide delegates with an opportunity to review and share their responses to the emergence of “learning centred leadership”. It will also provide an opportunity to:

  • Explore some of the most significant changes ever that are currently taking place in the nature of the learning experience in primary schools in England
  • Develop an understanding of the cumulative impact of initiatives and innovation such as personalizing learning on models of leadership
  • Explain why a fundamental reappraisal of school roles and relationships is required in order to "narrow the gap"

The impact of a series of key initiatives such as Every Child Matters, The Children’s Plan and the White Paper point to a radical reappraisal of traditional methods of leading the learning in a primary school and being an effective headteacher.

This conference will explore the implications of various models of leadership and provide an opportunity to share experiences and emerging practice.

If you would like to find out some models of leadership that could make a real difference to you and your school, then contact us at info@challengingideas.co.uk
